Report: JP Buys vs. Nate Smith Rebooked For Dana White’s Contender Series Ep. 36

A flyweight division attraction has been rebooked for Dana White’s Contender Series Episode 36 as JP Buys faces Nate Smith.

Buys (8-2-0) enters the contest riding a four-fight winning streak, picking up wins over Philippe Rouch, Gamzat Magomedov, Luthando Biko and Cristian Rodriguez. Buys also competed on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 7, suffering a second-round TKO loss to Joby Sanchez. Buys has competed a total of 10 times as a professional MMA fighter and none of those bouts went the distance.

Smith (6-1-0) is looking to rebound from his first professional MMA defeat, which came to Jimmy Flick at Dane White’s Contender Series Episode 31. Smith is going to be fighting for the third time this year, making 2020 his most active year as a professional MMA fighter. Smith started his pro career in the Victory Fighting Championship promotion, defeating Jeff Molina and Keegan Blanco.

Dana White’s Contender Series Episode 36 takes place on Tuesday, November 17 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
