A bantamweight division attraction is slated for UFC 227 according to John Hyon Ko of Kumite Radio as Kyung Ho Kang faces Ricardo Ramos.
Kang (14-7-0-1NC) enters the contest while riding a three fight winning streak, which includes victories over Shunichi Shimizu, Michinori Tanaka and Guido Cannetti. Kang has only competed once in the last four-plus years and that was a win over the aforementioned Cannetti at UFC Fight Night St. Louis. Kang is also a longtime veteran of the Road FC promotion, winning five of the seven fights he competed at there.
Ramos (11-1-0) is currently undefeated thus far under the UFC banner, defeating the duo of Michinori Tanaka and Aiemann Zahabi. Ramos has suffered just a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came to Manny Vazquez at Legacy Fighting Championships 51. Ramos does enter the bout on a three fight winning streak and he hasn’t suffered a loss in over two years, as his lone loss came in February of 2016.
UFC 227 takes place on Saturday, August 4 from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California with TJ Dillashaw and Cody Garbrandt headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
