A pair of featherweight competitors are set to clash at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 27 Finale according to Nolan King of MMA Today as Matt Bessette faces Steven Peterson.
Bessette (22-8-0-1NC) is currently winless under the UFC banner, having dropped a bout to Enrique Barzola by unanimous decision at UFC 220. Bessette also competed on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 1, battling Kurt Holobaugh to a no contest. Bessette also competed a total of nine times in Bellator MMA, where he defeated UFC veteran Diego Nunes by split decision at Bellator 110.
Peterson (16-7-0) is also winless thus far through his UFC journey, dropping a bout to Brandon Davis at UFC Fight Night Austin. Peterson also competed on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 7, suffering a split decision loss to Benito Lopez. Peterson has previously challenged for the Legacy Fighting Alliance Bantamweight Title, losing to Leandro Higo by unanimous decision at LFA 1.
