A lightweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night Washington DC according to the Washington Post (via Marcel Dorff of MMA DNA) as Matt Wiman is going to be in action against Joe Solecki.
Wiman (16-8-0) returned after a four-plus year absence at UFC Fight Night Greenville, suffering a third round TKO loss to Luis Pena. Wiman hasn’t picked up a victory in over four years, with that last win coming over Isaac Vallie-Flagg at UFC Fight Night 57. Wiman has competed a total of twenty four times as a professional MMA fighter and half of those encounters went the distance.
Solecki (8-2-0) is going to be making his UFC debut in this bout and does so on the strength of a three fight winning streak. Solecki also competed on Dana White’s Contender Series Season 3, Episode 3, defeating James Wallace by first round submission. Solecki has picked up eight wins as a professional MMA fighter and six of those victories came by way of submission.
UFC Fight Night Washington DC takes place on Saturday, December 7 from the Capitol One Arena in Washington DC with Alistair Overeem and Walt Harris headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on ESPN.
