A welterweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night: Overeem vs. Sakai as Michel Pereira faces Zelim Imadaev.
Brett Okamoto of ESPN first reported the bout, who’s spot on the card isn’t known at this time.
Pereira (23-11-0-2NC) has won just one of three under the UFC banner, with that lone win coming over Danny Roberts at UFC Fight Night Rochester. Pereira hasn’t picked up a victory in over a year, as UFC Fight Night Rochester took place in May of 2019. Pereira has picked up twenty three wins as a professional MMA fighter and ten of them came by way of KO/TKO.
Imadaev (8-2-0) is winless thus far in UFC competition, dropping bouts to the duo of Max Griffin and the aforementioned Roberts. Imadaev hasn’t earned a victory in well over two years, with his last win coming at Fight Nights Global 85 in March of 2018. Imadaev has competed ten times as a professional MMA fighter and just one of those bouts went the distance.
UFC Fight Night: Overeem vs. Sakai takes place on Saturday, September 5 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with Alistair Overeem and Augusto Sakai headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on ESPN.
