Mike Davis has suffered an undisclosed injury and has been pulled from a bout against Giga Chikadze at UFC Fight Night Norfolk.
MMA Junkie first reported the news, but the nature of Davis’ injury or how long the fighter is going to be out of action for isn’t known at this time. Chikadze is expected to remain on the UFC Fight Night Norfolk card at this time, as UFC officials are seeking a replacement for him to face.
Chikadze (8-3-0) is undefeated thus far in UFC competition, having defeated Brandon Davis by split decision at UFC Fight Night Copenhagen. Chikadze also competed on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 10, suffering a third round submission loss to Austin Springer. Chikadze has competed ten times as a professional MMA fighter and just two of those bouts went the distance.
UFC Fight Night Norfolk takes place on Saturday, February 29 from the Chartway Arena in Norfolk, Virginia with Joseph Benavidez and Deiveson Figueiredo headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
