Eric Wisely has suffered an injury and has been forced to withdrawal from UFC Fight Night Fort Lauderdale according to Michael Fiedel of The Body Lock, replacing him against Gilbert Burns is going to be Mike Davis.
Burns (14-3-0) has won three of his last four under the UFC banner, with those victories coming over the trio of Jason Saggo, Dan Moret and Olivier Aubin-Mercier. Burns is back on a Fight Night card for the first time in well over a year, with his last such appearance coming back at UFC Fight Night Pittsburgh in September of 2016. Burns has picked up fourteen wins as a professional MMA fighter and half of them came by way of submission.
Davis (6-1-0) is going to be making his UFC debut in this encounter and does so while on a one bout winning streak. Davis also competed on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 14, suffering a unanimous decision loss to Sodiq Yusuff. Davis has competed seven times as a professional MMA fighter and only one of those bouts went the distance.
