It has barely been over a month since longtime UFC color commentator Mike Goldberg called his last event for the promotion, which was UFC 207.
However, the former UFC employee may not be out of a job for long, because he’s apparently being courted by Bellator MMA.
According to a tweet sent out by freelance journalist Jonathan Shrager, Goldberg would initially be used for events that current color commentator Sean Grande couldn’t work due to outside commitments.

I had a hunch this era of MMA free agency wouldn't be restricted to fighters https://t.co/hGZL7WuRp6
Bellator MMA’s current commentary team consists of the aforementioned Sean Grande and Jimmy Smith. Previously, Sean Wheelock called action alongside Smith, but was released by the promotion shortly after Scott Coker took over, Wheelock currently calls the action for Victory Fighting Championships on UFC Fight Pass.
If Bellator MMA and Goldberg were to come to an agreement, there’s no official debut date set yet.
The promotions next event, Bellator 172, takes place on Saturday, February 18 from the SAP Center in San Jose, California with Fedor Emelianenko and Matt Mitrione headlining.
