MMA

Former two time Bellator MMA Featherweight Champion Pat Curran has suffered an injury and has been pulled from Bellator 205 according to MMA Junkie, where he was supposed to fight AJ McKee in the main event.

Bellator officials are searching for a replacement to fight McKee, who is expected to remain on the card at this time. The promotion has more than a month to fight McKee a new opponent, as the event is set for September 21. There is no word yet on just what kind of injury that Curran suffered or how long the fighter is expected to be out of action.

McKee (11-0-0) has spent his entire professional MMA career competing in Bellator, with seven victories in the promotion coming by KO/TKO or submission. McKee has previously headlined a Bellator card, having defeated Brian Moore by third round submission at Bellator 187. McKee did suffer a single defeat as an amateur MMA fighter and that came to Christian Espinoza in June of 2013.

Bellator 205 takes place on Friday, September 21 from the Century Link Arena in Boise, Idaho with AJ McKee and an opponent to be announced headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on the Paramount Network.
