Derek Campos was in need of a new opponent for Bellator MMA Europe 2 after the withdrawal of Ryan Scope, now he has one according to MMA Fighting as Pedro Carvalho has accepted the short notice opportunity.
Campos (19-8-0) enters the contest while in the midst of a two fight losing streak, dropping bouts to the duo of Patricky Freire and Sam Sicilia. Campos hasn’t earned a victory in nearly two years, with that last win coming at Bellator 181 in July of 2017. Campos has seen eleven of his professional MMA bouts go the distance, with the fighter winning eight of those encounters.
Carvalho (9-3-0) is undefeated thus far under the Bellator MMA banner, having defeated the duo of Daniel Crawford and Luca Vitali. Carvalho has picked up nine wins as a professional MMA fighter and more than half of them came by way of submission. Carvalho also enters the contest on the strength of a four fight winning streak and he hasn’t suffered a defeat in over three years.
Bellator MMA Europe 2 takes place on Saturday, May 4 from the Resort World Arena in Birmingham, England with Brent Primus and Tim Wilde headlining. Fightful is going to be providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on the Bellator app.
