A flyweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night Rio Rancho as #7 Rogerio Bontorin is in action against Ray Borg.
Jorge Hernandez of SW Fight first reported the bout, although its placement on the card isn’t known at this time.
Bontorin (16-1-0-1NC) is undefeated thus far under the UFC banner, having defeated the duo of Magomed Bibulatov and Raulian Paiva. Bontorin also competed on Dana White’s Contender Series Brazil Episode 1, defeating Gustavo Gabriel Silva by second round submission. Bontorin has suffered a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came to Michinori Tanaka at Grandslam 6 in October of 2017.
Borg (12-4-0) has won just one of his last three bouts in the UFC, with that lone win coming over Gabriel Silva at UFC Fight Night San Antonio. Borg has previously challenged for the UFC Flyweight Title, losing to then champion Demetrious Johnson at UFC 216. Borg has picked up twelve wins as a professional MMA fighter and half of them have come by way of submission.
UFC Fight Night Rio Rancho takes place on Saturday, February 15 from the Santa Ana Star Center in Rio Rancho, New Mexico with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
