A featherweight division attraction has been added to UFC 231 according to Combate as #4 Renato Moicano is in action against #8 Mirsad Bektic.
There was a report that Moicano was originally set to fight Chad Mendes at the event, but those plans have changed.
Moicano (13-1-1) enters the bout on the strength of a two fight winning streak, having defeated the duo of Calvin Kattar and Cub Swanson. Moicano has suffered just a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came against Brian Ortega at UFC 214. Moicano has seen seven of his fourteen professional MMA fights go the distance and Moicano has won all of those bouts.
Bektic (13-1-0) has won six of seven fights under the UFC banner and enters the contest on a two bout winning streak. Bektic has suffered just a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came against Darren Elkins at UFC 209. Bektic is fighting for the third time this year, making it the most active year as a fighter since 2012.
UFC 231 takes place on Saturday, December 8 from the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada with Max Holloway and Brian Ortega headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
