A women’s flyweight division attraction has been added to a yet to be announced UFC card on January 30 as Roxanne Modafferi (no. 7) faces Viviane Araujo (no. 8).
My MMA News first reported the fight.
Modafferi (25-17-0) has rotated wins and losses throughout her second UFC run, with the latest bout being a unanimous decision win over Andrea Lee at UFC Vegas 10. Modafferi has seen her last six go the distance and it has been over two years since the fighter got a finish. Modafferi has competed 42 times as a professional MMA fighter and 29 of those encounters went to the judges' scorecards.
Araujo (9-2-0) has won three of four under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over Talita Bernardo, Alexis Davis and Montana De La Rosa. Araujo has suffered just two losses as a professional MMA fighter and both of them came to UFC veterans. Araujo has picked up four of her nine professional MMA wins by submission, with another three coming by KO/TKO.
The yet to be announced UFC card is set for Saturday, January 30 from a location to be announced and with a main event to be announced. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be revealed.
