A flyweight division attraction has been added to a yet to be announced UFC card on January 16 as Tim Elliott (no. 13) faces Jordan Espinosa (no. 14).
MMA DNA first reported the bout.
Elliott (16-11-1) has won just two of his last six under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over Mark De La Rosa and Ryan Benoit. Elliott has previously challenged for the UFC flyweight championship, losing to then-champion Demetrious Johnson at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 24 Finale. Elliott has competed 28 times as a professional MMA fighter and 13 of those bouts went the distance.
Espinosa (15-8-0-1NC) has won just two of five in his UFC tenure with those wins coming against Eric Shelton and the aforementioned De La Rosa. Espinosa competed twice on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series, picking up wins over the duo of Nick Urso and Riley Dutro. Espinosa has seen his last two fights go the distance and it has been over two years since the fighter got a finish.
The yet to be announced UFC card is set for Saturday, January 16 from a location to be announced and with a main event to be announced. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be revealed.
