A heavyweight division attraction has been added to the Bellator 201 card according to MMA Fighting as Tyrell Fortune is going to be in action against Josue Lugo.
Fortune (4-0-0) has spent his entire professional MMA career competing in Bellator MMA, with the last two victories coming by way of decision. Fortune has also picked up two wins by way of KO/TKO, with those victories coming over Cody Miskell and Will Johnson. Fortune has no amateur MMA experience to speak of, but he was also an NCAA Division II wrestling champion.
Lugo (8-3-0-1NC) is going to be making his Bellator MMA debut in this fight and does so on the strength of a one bout winning streak. Lugo is a veteran of the Tachi Palace Fights promotion, where he holds a submission victory over Manuel Quezada. Lugo is also going to be in action for the first time in well over a year, as his last MMA bout took place in April of 2017.
Bellator 201 takes place on Friday, June 29 from the Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula, California with Ilima-Lei Macfarlane and Alejandra Lara headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on the Paramount Network.
