Report: UFC Adds Julianna Pena vs. Sara McMann To First 2021 Card

A women’s bantamweight division attraction has been added to the January 16 UFC card as #6 Julianna Pena faces #9 Sara McMann.

Pena (9-4-0) has won just one of her last three under the UFC banner, with that lone win coming over Nicco Montano at UFC Fight Night Sacramento. Pena was the winner of the Ultimate Fighter 18, defeating Jessica Rakoczy in the finals of the reality show. Pena has competed 13 times as a professional MMA fighter and just four of those encounters went the distance.

McMann (12-5-0) has also won just one of her last three in the UFC, with her lone win coming over Lina Lansberg at UFC Fight Night Raleigh. McMann has previously challenged for the UFC women’s bantamweight title, losing to then champion Ronda Rousey at UFC 170. McMann has picked up six of 12 pro MMA wins by decision, with another five coming by way of submission.

UFC Fight Night: Holloway vs. Kattar takes place on Saturday, January 16 from a location to be announced with Max Holloway and Calvin Kattar headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be revealed.
