One of the UFC's most dynamic strikers is reportedly set to return on September 14th, taking on Antonio Carlos Junior in a clash of ranked Middleweights competitors.
Uriah Hall (14-9) last fought in December 2018, scoring a knockout win over Bevon Lewis and returning to the win column after suffering a stoppage defeat opposite Paulo Costa. Prior to that, Hall finished Krzysztof Jotko, snapping a three fight losing streak in the process. According to a report from Combate that's since been confirmed by MMA Junkie, Hall's next outing is now booked, heading to Vancouver for a fight with Antonio Carlos Junior.
The Brazilian enters in contrasting form, recently losing after experiencing an impressive spell of form prior to that. Junior (10-3 (1))was outpointed by Ian Heinisch just last month, halting a five fight win streak along the way. Those five victories included four submissions, with each one coming via Rear-Naked Choke. Even after the defeat opposite Heinisch, Junior maintains a 7-3 (1) tally inside the octagon and is currently ranked 13th in the UFC's Middleweight standings.
Both fighters are Ultimate Fighter veterans, with Junior winning the 3rd Brazilian Season while Hall memorably reached the final of Season 17. After scoring some highlight reel knockouts on his path to the finale, Hall was outpointed by Kelvin Gastelum, since experiencing mixed results and compiling a 7-7 record inside the octagon.
Also reportedly scheduled for Vancouver is a fight between David Branch (22-6) and Andrew Sanchez (11-4). MMA Junkie reported the fight's booking today, with Branch looking to snap a two fight losing streak after suffering consecutive finish defeats. Sanchez enters in far better form, scoring two straight victories against admittedly lesser opposition.
UFC Fight Night Vancouver takes place on September 14th at a venue to be determined. The event will air on ESPN+.
