Report: Virna Jandiroba Replaces Livia Renata Souza At UFC Fight Night Fort Lauderdale

Livia Renata Souza has suffered an injury and has been pulled from UFC Fight Night Fort Lauderdale according to Combate, replacing her against Carla Esparza is going to be Virna Jandiroba.

Esparza (13-6-0) will enter the contest while in the midst of a two fight losing streak, having dropped bouts to the duo of Claudia Gadelha and Tatiana Suarez. Esparza was the first ever UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion, defeating Rose Namajunas at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 20 Finale to claim the gold. Esparza has competed nineteen times as a professional MMA fighter and nearly half of those bouts went to the judges scorecards.

Jandiroba (14-0-0) is going to be making her UFC debut in this bout and does so with an undefeated streak that has lasted almost six years. Jandiroba is the current Invicta FC Strawweight Champion, defeating Mizuki Inoue to win the gold at Invicta FC 28. Jandiroba has picked up fourteen wins as a professional MMA fighter and eleven of them have come by way of submission.

UFC Fight Night Ft. Lauderdale takes place on Saturday, April 27 from the BB&T Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with Ronaldo Souza and an opponent to be announced headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on ESPN.
