Report: Yair Rodriguez vs. Zabit Magomedsharipov Headlines August 29 UFC Event

A featherweight division attraction will headline recently announced UFC card on August 29 as #3 Zabit Magomedsharipov faces #5 Yair Rodriguez.

TASS first reported the bout, while Sherdog reported that it will headline the card.

Magomedsharipov (18-1-0) has won six of six fights in the UFC, with notable wins coming over Jeremy Stephens and Calvin Kattar. Magomedsharipov hasn’t suffered a defeat in over seven years, with that loss coming to Igor Egorov at Pro FC 47. Magomedsharipov has picked up eighteen wins as a professional MMA fighter and seven of them came by way of submission.

Rodriguez (13-2-0-1NC) has won two of his last four fights under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over the aforementioned Stephens and Chan Sung Jung. Rodriguez has headlined four UFC cards, winning three of those bouts over the aforementioned Jung, an aforementioned Stephens and BJ Penn. Rodriguez has suffered two losses as a professional MMA fighter and both of those defeats came by way of KO/TKO.

UFC Fight Night: Magomedsharipov vs. Rodriguez takes place on Saturday, August 29 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with Zabit Magomedsharipov and Yair Rodriguez headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be announced.
