Welcome to Fightful's live coverage of the WBC heavyweight title fight between Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury. The two heavyweight stars will look to walk away as the WBC heavyweight champion in one of the most highly-anticipated boxing fights of 2018. SHOWTIME BOXING: SPECIAL EDITION
Adonis Stevenson (c) vs. Oleksandr Gvozdyk: WBC Light Heavyweight Title Bout
Round 1: Stevenson starts off with a couple of jabs to Gvozdyk to test his range. Gvozdyk also goes for a pair of jabs before throwing a couple of left hands to pressure Stevenson. Stevenson throws a 1-2 then Gvozdyk lands a left hand. Stevenson then connects with a stiff left hand that pushed Gvozdyk back. Stevenson landed an overhand left that briefly stunned Gvozdyk. Not a lot of action in that first round.
Fightful scored round 1 for Stevenson 10-9
Round 2: Stevenson connects a big left hand to the chin and Gvozdyk answers back with a quick right to the body. Stevenson lands another left hand as he remains planted in the center of the ring while Gvozdyk continued to move around the ring. Gvozdyk tries to attack the body, but doesn’t hit anything clean. Gvozdyk throws three straight jabs, the last of which actually connects.

Round 3: Gvozdyk hurts Stevenson with a counter right hand and Stevenson goes down, but it’s not ruled a knockdown. Gvozdyk pressures Stevenson as Gvozdyk moves forward and throws multiple left hands. Stevenson throws another strong left hand, but Gvozdyk is in control of the round so far.

Round 4: Stevenson lands another left hand that pushes Gvozdyk back to the ropes. Stevenson with a counter left hand and Gvozdyk manages to block it. The two men clinch and the action comes to a halt. The champion continues to land the straight left hand. Gvozdyk throws a five-punch combination to the chin and body and he’s getting more confident. Stevenson lands another counter left hand. Gvozdyk lands a left jab to the body and blocks a left hook from Stevenson.

Round 5: Gvozdyk follows trainer Teddy Atlas’ orders between rounds and starts moving to his left more, throwing the occasional jab at the champion. Both men exchange quick left jabs to the body. Gvozdyk lands a big left hand and Stevenson gets a short left hand in. Gvozdyk lands a counter right hand that pushes Stevenson and then a quick combination. Stevenson lands a left body shot and Gvozdyk’s knees almost go touch the canvas but manages to avoid the knockdown.

Round 6: Gvozdyk starts throwing little short jabs to keep Stevenson from planting his feet and landing his power shots. Gvozdyk lands another right hand and Stevenson throws a big left hand. Stevenson still has the power advantage in this fight, despite Gvozdyk slight outworking him in the last few rounds.Stevenson lands a big left jab to the body and Gvozdyk lands a counter right hand. Stevenson lands a left jab and Gvozdyk answers back with a short right uppercut.

Round 7: Gvozdyk throws a quick combination, but Stevenson starts to use his left hand more often. Gvozdyk and Stevenson trade a couple of jabs. Gvozdyk lands a solid combination and immediately moves out of the way to avoid getting hit to the body. Stevenson lands a well-timed right hand to Gvozdyk’s chin. Stevenson eats a big right hand to the face, but he manages to land a left hand to the body before the round ends.

Round 8: Stevenson throws a quick left hand upstairs, followed by a left uppercut to the body. The crowd is trying to rally behind Stevenson, chanting “Superman!” Gvozdyk lands a solid right hand to Stevenson’s jaw. Gvozdyk is pressuring Stevenson as the champion is starting to look winded. Stevenson landed another big right hand to Stevenson.

Round 9: Stevenson lands a left hand to Gvozdyk’s chest and is getting confident once again. Stevenson landed a left hook upstairs and Gvozdyk isn’t throwing as many punches early in the round. Gvozdyk stuns Stevenson with a big right hand, but Stevenson recovers. Gvozdyk ducks under a straight left hand Stevenson and the two boxers clinch. Stevenson landed a left hook and Gvozdyk slips in a right hand.
Fightful scored round 9 for Stevenson 10-9
Round 10: Gvozdyk lands a right hand to the side of Stevenson’s chin. Stevenson throws a left uppercut, but Gvozdyk blocks it. Stevenson hurts Gvozdyk hard with a big left hand and Gvozdyk lands a right hand, but is still hurt. Gvozdyk is hit once more and is clearly hurt. Gvozdyk lands a strong combination that also hurts Stevenson. Regardless, this is Stevenson’s best round of the night thus far.

Round 11: Gvozdyk lands another right hand to the body. Gvozdyk still looks a little hurt, but is still throwing punches. Stevenson is still moving well after that big 10th round. Gvozdyk goes on the offensive and lands a series of punches clean and Stevenson is hurt. Gvozdyk lands another right hand. Stevenson is still moving back, fearful of that right hand from Gvozdyk. Gvozdyk hurts Stevenson again and stops the champion.

Jarrett Hurd (c) vs. Jason Welborn: Unified WBA/IBF/IBO Junior Middleweight Title Bout
Round 1: Hurd moves around the ring, but neither fighter throws anything for the first 45 seconds of the round. Welborn throws a couple of jabs then both men clinch. Welborn pressures Hurd and lands a solid right hand. Hurd lands a left jab upstairs. Action stops right here as Welborn’s mouthpiece leaves his mouth. Hurd throws a couple of quick left jabs and Welborn throws a right hook. Welborn throws a body shot to end the round.

Round 2: Hurd throws a couple of left jabs to open things up and he looks much more comfortable letting his hands go. Hurd throws a left hook to the body. Hurd is now pressing forward and scoring with the left hand. Welborn misses an uppercut and eats a pair of body shots. Welborn takes the fight up close and throws a three-punch combination. Welborn’s best punches so far are the close-range right hands whenever Hurd is on the ropes.

Round 3: Hurd throws five straight left jabs to Welborn before throwing three straight hooks to the body. Welborn gets a chance to throw the hook as well, but Hurd manages to block it. Hurd throws a right uppercut and Welborn connects with the 1-2. Both men trade punches on the inside as Hurd is nearly on the ropes. Hurd lands a big left hook to the body at short range. Welborn throws several power punches to Hurd as the round ends.

Round 4: Hurd lands a few more left jabs to Welborn, but Welborn is fighting through the champion’s jabs and is landing several big punches while Hurd is in the corner. Welborn nearly hurts Hurd numerous times on the ropes. Hurd recovers and lands a few more punches to the body. Hurd knocks down Welborn. Welborn is slow to get up and is counted out.

Deontay Wilder (c) vs. Tyson Fury: WBC Heavyweight Title Bout
Round 1: Wilder starts off with a jab to the body. Fury stays idle for the first 30 seconds of the round. Wilder throws a wild right hook to pressure Fury. Wilder lands a quick left hook and misses with another big right hook. Fury misses three straight jabs as Wilder’s head movement is excellent thus far. Both men clinch and Wilder lands a sweeping left hook to Fury.

Round 2: Both men jab for a little bit as they try to find their range. Wilder lands a couple of left jabs well. Wilder lands a 1-2 combination as Fury was on the ropes. Fury lands a short right hand. Fury lands a 1-2 jab combo and WIlder misses with the left hook. Wilder continues to land the left hook, but not getting anything else to land. Fury grabs Wilder by the head with about 30 seconds remaining in the round. Wilder lands a big combination at the end of the round

Round 3: First 30 seconds of the round has little to no action from either fighter. Fury lands a quick left hand while Wilder is still looking for the big left hook to knock Fury out. Wilder lands a left uppercut to the body. Fury throws three straight jabs and Wilder’s right hook lands nowhere. Fury connects with a right hand as Wilder misses another punch.

Round 4: Wilder lands a quick jab to the body. Wilder misses another couple of punches as Fury manages to land a left hand to Wilder’s body. Wilder lands a left jab upstairs. Both men stay in the center of the ring for a bit as Wilder is still looking for the big punch. Wilder continues to set up the right hand with his left, but the right hand always misses.
Fightful scored round 4 for Fury 10-9
Round 5: Fury avoids getting hit with Wilder’s jab. Fury lands a left jab and Wilder responds with a right jab of his own. Wilder attacked Fury with a pair of short body blows. Fury is mostly on defense for this round, choosing to pace himself. Fury works the jab in the last minute of the round as Wilder continues to land the right hand.

Round 6: Fury continues to avoid getting hit by Wilder’s best punches. Wilder is really unsuccessful with his basic step up and throw the right hand for a knockout. Wilder did manage to land a solid shot to Fury, but Wilder still isn’t doing much else in the round. Fury is working the jab well, followed by an uppercut to the body.

Round 7: Wilder is looking for the left hook upstairs early on in the round. Fury lands a couple of right hands to keep Wilder at bay. Wilder connects with a quick left hook. Fury lands a big 1-2 to Wilder. Wilder lands a right hand to push Fury back to the ropes. Wilder throws a pair of hooks to Fury, but Fury is still moving forward.

Round 8: Wilder and Fury don’t do much for the first 40 seconds of the round. Fury feints and then lands a left jab. Wilder connects with a jab, but once again, it’s not the power punch that he’s known for. Wilder misses a pair of hooks. Fury ducks under a right hand from Wilder.

Round 9: Wilder throws a couple of jabs to Fury, but they don’t land. Wilder lands a counter left jab and then throws an overhand right. Wilder knocks down Fury with a left hand and Wilder is now mauling Fury. Fury lands a big counter left hook upstairs. Fury and Wilder trade shots late in the round.

Round 10: Fury lands a big 1-2 to open things up and Wilder is pushed back. Both men clinch for the first time in several rounds it seems. Wilder misses with a left jab and Fury barely connects a left jab of his own. Fury lands an uppercut and Wilder is still throwing several big punches. Fury loads up on a big 1-2 late in the round.

Round 11: Wilder throws a jab, but it doesn’t connect. Fury misses with the left jab as Wilder is moving back. Wilder is still looking for an opening to seriously hurt Fury. Wilder and Fury wrestle and Fury lands a solid left hand upstairs. Wilder throws a couple of uppercuts that do little against the British heavyweight. Wilder manages to finally connect a good left hand.
Fightful scored round 11 for Fury 10-9
Round 12: The final round starts with Fury and Wilder sticking to the middle of the ring as Wilder is still trying to find for a big left hand. Wilder knocks down Fury with a big right hand and Fury almost gets counted out yet somehow manages to gets back up! The two men get back to fighting and Fury is still moving forward with the jab. Fury pressures Wilder to the ropes as the fight ends.
