Erickson Lubin Dominates Nathaniel Gallimore; Full Showtime Boxing (10/26) Results

Erickson Lubin’s journey to get another world title shot and seek redemption for his first-round KO loss in 2017 continues after a dominant performance against Nathaniel Gallimore.

In the main event of a Showtime Boxing card from Reading, Pennsylvania, Lubin outclassed Gallimore, winning the bout by unanimous decision with all three judges scoring the bout 99-91 in favor of Lubin. With the win, Lubin has now won four straight and will target a world title fight in 2020.

Gallimore struggled to consistently land big punches on Lubin, who was able to pound away at the body with the occasional hooks upstairs to stagger Gallimore. As Lubin kept landing power shots throughout the fight, Gallimore would taunt his opponent, but it did nothing to change the fact that he wasn’t able to get anything going against Lubin.

After unsuccessfully challenging for the WBC junior middleweight title in 2017 against Charlo, Lubin would go on to beat his next three opponents inside the distance. This latest fight was supposed to be a title eliminator between Lubin and Terrell Gausha, but Gausha was injured and had to pull out of the fight, leading to Gallimore stepping in.

Recently, the WBC approved a final eliminator between Lubin and Sergio Garcia where the winner would be the mandatory challenger to Tony Harrison’s WBC title. Harrison and Charlo are set to face each other in a title rematch in the coming months with the fight yet to be announced.

Also on the card was former lightweight titleholder Robert Easter Jr. winning his junior welterweight debut against Adrian Granados. The fight saw plenty of action with both fighters throwing more than 800 punches each and Granados throwing nearly 1,000 punches. This was Easter’s first win since January 2018 when he defeated Javier Fortuna during Easter’s reign as the IBF lightweight champion.

The opening bout saw Frank Sanchez dominate Jack Mulowayi across 10 rounds. Sanchez, an unbeaten Cuban heavyweight prospect, won all 10 rounds on all three judges scorecards after coming in as a late replacement for the injured Ajagba who was originally supposed to fight Mulowayi. This was the first time Sanchez, who came into the fight winning 11 of his 13 fights inside the distance, had fought 10 rounds in a bout.
