Two action-packed fights on Facebook and RingTV.com headlined Golden Boy Promotions' latest show of its "Thursday Night Fights" series.
In the main event, Romero Duno and Juan Antonio Rodriguez had to go to a technical decision in the middle of the ninth round after a clash of heads convinced the referee that Rodriguez was too badly hurt to continue fighting. After eight-and-a-half rounds, it was Duno who won the fight by split decision (85-84 Rodriguez, 85-84, Duno, 86-83 Duno) to win the NABO lightweight title.
Both men had wild exchanges throughout the fight, but the first few rounds saw the two boxers get nearly stopped. Rodriguez opened things up with a flurry of shots in the third round that had Duno stumbling and close to being dropped. Duno recovered and he got his chance to retaliate with a series of punches that not hurt Rodriguez.
A little more than halfway through the seventh round, Duno landed a shot just under the belt line, but as Rodriguez went down, the referee docked a point from Duno for the low blow. Duno did manage to make up for the lost point by landing a vicious left body hook in the eighth round to drop Rodriguez. As the ninth round was well underway, the fight had to be stopped and since the referee said an accidental headbutt was the reason for the stoppage, the fight had to go to a technical decision.
In the co-main event, Manny Robles III survived a furious rally from Rigoberto Hermosillo to retain the NABF featherweight title by split decision (97-92 Robles, 95-94 Hermosillo, 96-93 Robles). Robles scored a knockdown in the first round and even landed a right hand that caused a cut over Hermosillo's right eye. Hermosillo would recover from the knockdown and outwork Robles throughout the fight, but it was Robles who still landed more punches.

The opening fight of the main card saw unbeaten junior welterweight prospect Genaro Gamez pick up his ninth career win with a devastating first-round victory over Daniel Evangelista. This was Gamez's first fight since April 2018 when he won an eight-round decision against Shoki Sakai.
