Gennadiy Golovkin vs. Sergiy Derevyanchenko: Vacant IBF and IBO Middleweight Titles
Round 1: Derevyanchenko throws multiple left jabs to open things up in the center of the ring. Golovkin also throws several jabs and then a hook off the left jab. Both men clinch, but Golovkin is starting to let his hands go. Golovkin connects with a big left hook and eventually drops Derevyanchenko.

Round 2: Derevyanchenko is picking up the pace, throwing several combinations at Golovkin. Derevyanchenko throws a couple of hooks at Golovkin’s body. Both men trade short uppercuts and Golovkin lands a left jab. Derevyanchenko lands a left jab of his own. Golovkin catches Derevyanchenko with a left uppercut and Derevyanchenko is starting to bleed from his eye.

Round 3: Derevyanchenko is attacking the body and having some success. Derevyanchenko and Golovkin are now trading shots as Derevyanchenko is fighting much more aggressively. Golovkin is jabbing away at Derevyanchenko’s cut located above his right eye. Golovkin lands a solid 1-2 combination preceded by another big left hook. Derevyanchenko connects with two jabs at Golovkin.

Round 4: Derevyanchenko throws several hooks that Golovkin mostly blocks. Golovkin connects with a counter left jab. Golovkin lands a solid uppercut that splits Derevyanchenko’s guard. Derevyanchenko is hitting the body well, but now it appears the DAZN commentary team is hinting that Derevyanchenko’s cut might have been caused by an accidental headbutt and not a legal punch.

Round 5: Derevyanchenko is landing better punches than he did at the start of the fight, highlighted by a three-punch combination. Golovkin lands a big uppercut to Derevyanchenko’s chin. Derevyanchenko and Golovkin trade jabs in the middle of the ring. Derevyanchenko hurt Golovkin with more body shots.

Round 6: Golovkin’s body is targeted by Derevyanchenko’s body work, which briefly hurt him at the end of the last round. Derevyanchenko lands another left body hook. Golovkin takes a hard jab from Derevyanchenko. Derevyanchenko is hurting Golovkin and in control of the fight with that impressive body work.

Round 7: Derevyanchenko starts landing several jabs at Golovkin and the former unified champion is throwing combinations as well. Derevyanchenko lands a left hook at Golovkin Golovkin throws a jab in response. Golovkin lands a big right hand to the body and Derevyanchenko lands an uppercut that breaks through Golovkin’s guard.

Round 8: The ringside doctor takes a look at Derevyanchenko’s cut and he is allowed to continue fighting. Derevyanchenko lands a body shot and opts to throw a couple of short combinations upstairs. Golovkin lands two straight left hooks and is backing up Derevyanchenko. Two minutes into the round and Derevyanchenko lands a pair of jabs. Derevyanchenko connects with a left hook. Golovkin throws a left body hook. The round ends with a pair of body shots from Derevyanchenko.

Round 9: Golovkin hits a big shot at Derevyanchenko’s cut and now the two fighters sit in the center of the ring trading hooks. Derevyanchenko throws several combinations and uppercuts at Golovkin, backing him up a bit. Derevyanchenko throws a couple of uppercuts, still backing up Golovkin. Late in the round, Golovkin throws a couple of body shots and Derevyanchenko responds with a right hand.

Round 10: Derevyanchenko is backing up Golovkin and landing big combinations. Golovkin is backing up after getting with big punches throughout this round. Derevyanchenko continues to throw several hooks at the former champion. Golovkin fights back and lands a couple of jabs. The crowd at Madison Square Garden is on its feet.
