Longtime MMA fighter Jake Heun could be in a lot of trouble as he faces drug trafficking charges in Melbourne, Australia.
Knockdown News obtained court documents revealing the charges stemming from 2019 and 2020. He appeared in front of the Magistrates’ Court of Victoria to face these charges.
The 33-year-old Heun faces multiple counts, including two counts of trafficking a controlled drug, one count of importing a commercial quantity of a border controlled drug, one count of attempting to possess a commercial quantity of border controlled drugs, and one count of importing a commercial quantity of a border controlled precursor. The drugs allegedly include methamphetamine and cocaine. Heun is also being charged with importing and possessing the drugs.
Making his professional debut in 2011. Heun competed on The Ultimate Fighter Season's 17 and 19, losing both times in the elimination stages. "The Honey Bear" has competed for promotions like Pro Elite, Showdown Fights, World Series of Fighting, and the PFL. Making his RIZIN debut in 2018, Heun is 3-1 with the promotion.
Heun is currently on a three-fight win streak. His last win came against Satoshi Ishii back in December 2019 at RIZIN 20. There were no bouts booked for Heun before this news.
“We knew nothing about this matter and are shocked to hear about the news,” a RIZIN representative stated to Knockdown News.
Heun is expected back in court on May 4th for a committal hearing.
