Scott Coker Ready To Potentially Sign Cyborg

Former UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion Cyborg is being granted an immediate release from the promotion according to UFC President Dana White. If Cyborg is immediately released by the promotion, it would mean that she wouldn't have to wait the standard ninety days to negotiate with other organizations.

Bellator MMA President Scott Coker is both happy that Cyborg’s time with the UFC may be over with and is ready to potentially sign the fighter to a deal as soon as possible.

“That’s great news. I’ll be calling (Cyborg’s manager) Audie (Attar) in the next five minutes,” Coker said to MMA Junkie

Coker did clarify to MMA Junkie that Cyborg is actually released by the UFC before making a deal with the former UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion.

White stated in a recent interview that Cyborg was afraid to lose again to current UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion Amanda Nunes, which us something that Coker disagrees with.

“I don’t even know what to say about that,” he said. “Cyborg isn’t afraid of anybody.”

Cyborg and Coker do have a past business relationship, as Coker was the head of Strikeforce before it got sold to the UFC and Cyborg is a former Strikeforce Women’s Featherweight Champion.
