Second Title Fight Set For UFC 211

The UFC Women’s Strawweight Title will be defended at UFC 211 as champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk will defend the gold against Jessica Andrade, in what will serve as the co-main event of the evening. Fightful first reported this news in early February.

Jedrzejczyk (13-0-0) will be making the fifth defense of her championship, having already defended it against Jessica Penne, Valerie Letourneau, Claudia Gadelha and Karolina Kowalkiewicz. Jedrzejczyk won the championship at UFC 185 in March 2015, where she defeated Carla Esparza by second round knockout. Jedrzejczyk also competed once time under the Cage Warriors banner, where she defeated fellow UFC veteran Rosi Sexton by second round knockout at Cage Warriors 69.

Andrade (16-5-0 has been undefeated thus far in the strawweight division, having earned victories over the trio of Jessica Penne, Joanne Calderwood and Angela Hill. Andrade also competed in the women’s bantamweight division under the UFC banner, with notable wins coming over Rosi Sexton, Raquel Pennington and Sarah Moras. Andrade signed with the UFC in July 2013, but before signing with the promotion, she would defeat UFC veteran Milana Dudieva at Pro FC 47 in Russia.

UFC 211 takes place on Saturday, May 13 from the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas with Stipe Miocic and Junior Dos Santos headlining.
