UFC Fight Night Uruguay has it's first seven fights confirmed, with the event receiving an interesting strawweight bout in particular.
After three straight losses, Tecia Torres (10-4) remains in the UFC's 115 pound top ten, currently ranked 8th. She now looks to return to the win column though, taking on the unranked but also undefeated Marina Rodriguez. Torres initially experienced great success in the octagon, winning six of her first seven outings. However, she's since struggled, being outpointed by future champion Jessica Andrade, former champion Joanna Jędrzejczyk and next title challenger Weili Zhang.
By comparison, Rodriguez's octagon career has been far briefer, officially arriving in September 2018 after entering via Dana White's Contender Series. Her octagon debut against Randa Markos ended in a majority draw but Rodriguez has improved on that effort since, winning a decision over Jessica Aguilar and scoring her first UFC win. She'll now look to make it two straight against Torres.
The Women's 125 pound division will also be represented in Uruguay, with Rachael Ostovich and Veronica Macedo looking to halt their recent struggles in a must-win Flyweight fight. After arriving in the UFC with a victory, Ostovich has dropped two straight by submission, most recently losing to Paige VanZant by armbar. Macedo is still looking for her first UFC win, losing all three of her first attempts in a stint slowed by inactivity.
Also announced was the return of Ultimate Fighter: Latin America veteran Enrique Barzola, taking on Bobby Moffett while back at Flyweight, Ashlee Evans-Smith battles on Taila Santos. Elsewhere, Ciryl Gane faces Raphael Pessoa Nunes, Rogerio Bontorin meets Raulian Paiva and finally, Geraldo De Freitas takes on Chris Gutierrez.
