A featherweight division attraction is the latest addition to UFC Fight Night 106 as Rony Jason will be pitted up against Jeremy Kennedy.
Jason (14-6-0-1NC) has only won just one of his last five under the UFC banner, defeating Steven Siler, while suffering defeats to Jeremy Stephens, Dennis Bermudez and Robbie Peralta, plus he fought Damon Jackson to a no contest. Jason started off his UFC career on a three fight winning streak, but he only earned one victory in the last three years. Jason will be competing in Brazil for the first time in over two years, his last appearance in the country was at the UFC Ultimate Fighter Brazil 3 Finale in May 2014. He's also the winner of the 2012 TUF Brazil tourney.
Kennedy (9-0-0) has already earned a single victory in UFC competition, having defeated Alessandro Ricci at UFC On Fox 21. Kennedy is a former Battlefield Fight League Lightweight Champion, he relinquished the belt upon signing with the UFC in 2016. Kennedy also held two titles as an amateur, holding the Battlefield Fight League Amateur Lightweight Title and the Hard Knocks Fighting Championships Lightweight Title.
UFC Fight Night 106 takes place on Saturday, March 11 from the Centro de Formacao Olimpica do Nordeste in Fortaleza, Brazil with Kelvin Gastelum and Vitor Belfort headlining, the main card airs live on Fox Sports 1.
