The hits just keep on coming for Gina Carano, who appears to have reached the limits of Twitter.
When searching for Carano on Twitter, it appears that her profile is being flagged for misinformation. Fans of Carano have had a hard time accessing the former MMA fighter's account. Twitter is warning several users that her account could contain sensitive information. That limits her reach in a time when social media has been a positive and a negative outlet for her.
Carano was set to appear in several Disney+ shows relating to Star Wars. Disney ended up letting her go following one of many controversial political posts she has made. The last straw for Disney was a post comparing the struggle of Republicans in the United States to Jews during the Holocaust. The Mandalorian star had a busy schedule before being cut. She believes she was bullied by Disney, who received multiple messages from fans called for her unemployment.
Twitter has addressed the idea of shadow banning in the past. They look into and address "bad-faith actors who intend to manipulate or detract from healthy conversation." Regarding Carano, Twitter could very well have put her account under the description of "Tweets from bad-faith actors who intend to manipulate or divide the conversation should be ranked lower."
Competing from 2006-2009, Carano fought for Strikeforce and EliteXC. She lost her last pro fight in 2009 against Cris Cyborg for the Strikeforce featherweight title.
