The trilogy bout between heavyweight boxing rivals Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder has been rescheduled, after the initial July 24 date was called off due to Fury testing positive for COVID-19.
According to a report from ESPN's Mike Coppinger the third meeting between Fury and Wilder will now take place on October 9 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Top Rank Promotions subsequently confirmed the new date via their social media accounts. Fury gave the following statement to ESPN about the October rebooking for the trilogy matchup with Wilder.
"I wanted nothing more than to smash the 'Big Dosser' on July 24, but I guess the beating will have to wait," Fury said. "Make no mistake, I will be back and better than ever. We will fight Oct. 9, and I will knock him spark out!"
