The ratings for this weekend’s UFC Fight Night 108 and Bellator 178 events are in, let’s start with Friday Night’s Bellator 178 event.
Bellator 178 drew a strong number of 674,000 viewers, making it the most watched of the three events the promotion ran in April. The rating was a strong one for the MMA promotion, which actually drew more viewers than the NHL Playoff games that aired opposite it on NBC Sports.
UFC Fight Night 108 was the Saturday Night portion of our MMA double header and that drew a total of 745,000 viewers. The rating was affected because the first main card fight (Jake Ellenberger vs. Mike Perry) aired on FS2 instead of Fox Sports 1.
The preliminary card fights that aired on Fox Sports 2, headlined by Thales Leites and Sam Alvey, peaked at 320,000 viewers. The highest amount of viewers during the entire event took place during the main event between Cub Swanson and Artem Lobov, that fight drew 831,000 viewers.
The aforementioned welterweight fight between Mike Perry and Jake Ellenberger peaked at 430,000 viewers on FS2, it was an overrun of the preliminary card and preempted main card on FS1.
Unlike the previously mentioned Bellator 178 card, the UFC Fight Night 108 card ran opposite of both NHL Playoff and NBA Playoff games.
