MMA

A welterweight division attraction is going to be headlining the Legacy Fighting Alliance 45 card as UFC veteran Erick Silva faces Nick Barnes.

Silva (19-9-0-1NC) is going to be making his LFA debut in this fight and the Brazilian is competing outside of the UFC for the first time in almost eight year. Silva went 7-8-0 during his time in the UFC, with those wins coming over Luis Ramos, Charlie Brenneman, Jason High, Takenori Soto, Mike Rhodes, Josh Koscheck and Luan Chagas. Silva hasn’t picked up a win in almost two years, with his last victory taking place at UFC Fight Night 95 in September of 2016.

Barnes (12-3-0) has won just one of two fights under the LFA banner, with that lone victory coming over Chad Curry at LFA 20. Barnes also competed once in the Bellator MMA promotion, defeating James Terry by first round submission at Bellator 147. Barnes has seen just three of his professional MMA fights going the distance and the competition won that trio of bouts.

Legacy Fighting Alliance 45 takes place on Friday, July 20 from the Morongo Casino Outdoor Pavilion in Cabazon, California with Erick Silva and Nick Barnes headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on AXS TV.
