A late addition has made to the UFC 229 card, which was announced during the UFC Fight Night Sao Paulo 2018 broadcast, as Vicente Luque faces Jalin Turner in a welterweight division affair.
Luque (13-6-1) enters the contest while riding a two fight winning streak, having defeated the duo of Niko Price and Chad Laprise. Luque has also suffered two defeats while competing in the UFC, with those losses coming to the duo of Leon Edwards and Michael Graves. Luque is also undefeated when competing on UFC pay-per-view cards, having defeated Belal Muhammad by knockout at UFC 205.
Turner (7-3-0) is going to be making his UFC debut in this bout and does so on the strength of a three fight winning streak. Turner competed on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 12, defeating Max Mustaki by first round TKO. Turner also competed twice under the Bellator MMA banner, having defeated the duo of Noah Tillis and Gabriel Green.
UFC 229 takes place on Saturday, October 6 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor headlining. Fightful is going to be providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
