Yair Rodríguez and Josh Emmett are set to meet in a bout that will be for the interim UFC featherweight title at UFC284 on February 12 in Perth, Australia.
ESPN Deportes' Carlos Contreras Legaspi was the first to report the news of the matchup being booked via a tweet, with the promotion also confirming the bout during the broadcast of this past weekend's UFC 281 pay-per-view. Rodríguez is 3-1-1 in his last five fights and is coming off of a first-round TKO victory over former two-time UFC title challenger, Brian Ortega, at UFC on ABC 3 in July. Emmett meanwhile is 7-1 in his last eight Octagon outings and will look to build on a split decision win over Calvin Kattar at UFC Austin in June.
