A couple of fights have been added to the upcoming UFC Fight Night: Pittsburgh card as Mike Perry faces Thiago Alves and Hector Lombard faces Trevor Smith.
These two fights were originally set for UFC 215 in August, but the event was moved to September and these fights have now been rebooked to the UFC Fight Night: Pittsburgh card.
Perry (10-1-0) has already earned three victories under the UFC banner, having defeated the trio of Hyun Gyu Lim, Danny Roberts and Jake Ellenberger. Perry has only seen just one of his eleven professional MMA fights go the distance, that fight was a loss to Alan Jouban at UFC On Fox 22.
Alves (22-11-0) has been with the UFC for almost twelve years now and he has earned a total of fourteen wins thus far in the promotion. Alves has previously challenged for the UFC Welterweight Title, losing to then-champion Georges St. Pierre by decision at UFC 100.
Lombard (34-7-1-2NC) is going to be entering the fight riding a three fight losing streak and he hasn’t earned a win in well over three years. Lombard is a former Bellator MMA Middleweight Champion and he never lost the title, but relinquished it upon signing with the UFC in 2012.
Smith (27-12-0) will enter the fight on the strength of a two fight winning streak, with those wins coming over Elvis Mutapcic and Andrew Sanchez. Smith is currently in the midst of his second run with the UFC, the fight went winless during his initial run with the promotion in 2013.
UFC Fight Night: Pittsburgh takes place on Saturday, September 16 from a location to be announced in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
