It looks like Paige's account of the Orlando Airport incident from back on July 9 was accurate after all, at least in the eyes of the law. Alberto El Patron is no longer a suspect for domestic assault.
As we reported earlier, it is Paige that the Orlando Police have recommended be charged with domestic violence. and now comes word, via Pro Wrestling Sheet, that El Patron has been cleared entirely.
A Police Department spokesperson informed PWS that they no longer view El Patron as a suspect.
Earlier, Paige had Tweeted her version of events that day in Orlando International Airport, directly contradicting an earlier account given by an eyewitness, and seeming to belie what could be heard on an audio tape of the incident, which can be heard above.
She said she was at fault and it looks like the police are willing to take her at her word, determining that she should be charged with battery. The State's Attorney must decide whether charges will be brought.
It remains to be seen whether the indefinite suspension of El Patron, levied by GFW, will be lifted in light of these new developments. El Patron is currently the promotion's Unified Heavyweight Champion.
