Report: Laurel Van Ness Asks For Impact Wrestling Release

A former Tough Enough competitor turned Impact Knockouts Champion could be on the open market soon if she has her way.

Laurel Van Ness, also known by her real name Chelsea Green asked for her release from Impact Wrestling, according to Squared Circle Sirens. Although it hasn't aired on television yet, Van Ness is Impact's Knockouts Champion.

LVN signed with Impact Wrestling in June 2016, where she started a storyline with Braxton Sutter and Allie. After a failed wedding with Sutter, Van Ness' character evolved into a crazy bride, often appearing inebriated. She didn't compete on this year's Bound For Glory, instead working into the Grado vs. Abyss match after an extended program where she was with Grado.

She appeared on the 2015 season of Tough Enough that ended up paying off well for WWE. In addition to Green/Van Ness, Impact picked up Gabi/Raquel, while WWE has kept Mandy Rose, Sonya Deville and Velveteen Dream.

Fightful was told that WWE had held interest in Green prior to her signing with Impact, and likely would if she became available. She's dated former Intercontinental Champion Zack Ryder for the better part of the year, and even attended WWE's post-WrestleMania party this year in Orlando.

Laurel Van Ness could be the latest of dozens of stars, agents, and even executives that left the company in 2017 in one of the most drastic roster overturns in pro wrestling history. Fightful will keep you updated on any additional information that is revealed.
