REPORT: Rey Mysterio Offered Contract By GFW; Karen Jarrett Fuels Rumors

A few days ago, Fightful reported a story, via Sports Illustrated, that Rey Mysterio was being courted by both WWE and GFW Impact, even though he would not be able to work for them until 90 days after the season 3 finale of Lucha Underground, as he would still be under a non-compete agreement. It was unclear at the time which company had shown the most interest or which way Rey was leaning.

Now, we may have an idea.

PWInsider is reporting that Rey has a GFW contract offer in hand and is deciding whether to accept. The former WWE Champion met with GFW representatives in Nashville on Monday, the report said.

And now, Karen Jarrett is posting pics on Instagram, fueling these rumors.

So there's that.

One thing to note: fellow Lucha Undergrounders Drago and King Cuerno (competing as El Hijo Del Fantasma) wrestled unsuccessfully in a four corners tag team match for the GFW Titles at Slammiversary on July 2nd, then were heavily used during the next set of tapings, so if Rey signed with GFW, at least he'd be among friends.
