Two of the biggest and most influential junior heavyweights of all time look to be heading to Long Beach next month.
Rey Mysterio appeared on video at tonight's NJPW The New Beginning In Osaka. He issued a challenge to none other than Jushin Thunder Liger. He made the challenge, he said, and now all Liger needs to do is accept. According to Chris Charlton, Liger on commentary accepted the match. This would not be their first meeting, as the two wrestled for WCW decades ago at the 1996 edition of Starrcade. Liger picked up the win.
Mysterio is currently a free agent, wrestling around the world including Mexico and the United Kingdom. In fact, he even appeared a few weeks ago at the Royal Rumble in a surprise appearance.
