Rockstar Spud Released By Impact Wrestling

Another release from Impact Wrestling was announced earlier this afternoon.

PWInsider has reported that Rockstar Spud, who has been with the promotion for most of the decade, is no longer with the company as of 2-3 weeks ago. He had most recently been a ring announcer following the switch in owners to Anthem. Before that, he was involved in a feud with Swoggle in a comedy angle.

He joined Impact as a part of British Boot Camp, which originally aired on the Challenge network in the UK. After a brief stint in OVW, he joined the main roster and  became then heel Dixie Carter's Chief of Staff.

After that run concluded, he mainly focused on the X-Division title. He was also used for comedy purposes, such as being pinned by King Maxel. He was also briefly associated with Aron Rex during a short lived Liberace gimmick as his servant.

Impact have been making a number of cutbacks as of late, including moving Bound for Glory to Canada, where parent company Anthem is located, as well as moving the next set of tapings to Canada. As a result, a number of people have left the promotion. Jeff Jarrett has also been dismissed recently, though it has nothing to do with cutbacks but rather for personal reasons.
