Shawn Michaels Shares His Thoughts On The Young Bucks And Talks Playing His Role In Further Developing The NXT Brand

Shawn Michaels chats with his good friend, Sean Waltman and the two discuss a number of pro-wrestling topics.

WWE Hall Of Famer and former three-time WWE Champion, Shawn Michaels, recently joined the X-Pac 12360 podcast. During the podcast, Michaels and X-Pac's crew would talk about Michaels coming back into the world of pro-wrestling as a coach at the WWE Performance Center and would also talk about one of, if not the biggest tag-team in professional wrestling, The Young Bucks, and more.

Will Ospreay: I Flipping Love AEW, We Have The Most Talented Roster In The World

Now having his role in NXT develop from a coach, to being on the road with the NXT crew full-time, Shawn Michaels can provide a great deal of knowledge to those are still growing accustom to how the WWE works. While on the topic of Shawn's signature "Superkick" being used all over the wrestling world and apparently in combat sports, the team of Matt & Nick Jackson, The Young Bucks, became the topic of the conversation and although The Bucks, along with Kenny Omega, Cody and many others are making names for themselves without the "machine" behind them, "The Heartbreak Kid" feels that they should be displaying those talents on the biggest stage that they can possibly display them on.

"I have met them {Young Bucks} but it was a pretty brief encounter but you know I hear great things about them, you know phenomenal workers and that Kenny Omega kid. I get it that people don’t wanna be part of the WWE for one reason or another ...and I totally 100 percent understand that … I just want the most talented guys that are doing this line of work to be able to do it in a place where they can reap the most rewards. There are people that think they are making a phenomenal living away from the WWE and I have no doubt that they are but I still hope there comes a day where all these guys will come to the WWE and have the opportunity to do it on a bigger stage. I enjoy the world being able to appreciate what is we do. And if you can do it at a phenomenal level, I’d like everybody to see that and WWE is the place where you can show that and that’s not to take anything away from everybody else … if a dude like me can make a living surely those guys can."

At WrestleMania XXVI, Shawn Michaels wrestled his last match against The Undertaker. The following night on RAW, "The Showstopper" would come out and deliver his farewell speech and departed from the WWE Universe with the words: "Shawn Michaels has left the building." Michaels vowed that he would step away from the sport to focus on himself and his family and while he did that for quite some time, that itch of wanting to be involved in wrestling returned, as he would soon become a regular face at the WWE Performance Center, which turned out to be more than just a mentor gig to young talent.

"Hunter mentioned to me that we (NXT) have a whole lot of people who haven't been where you've been and what you have done. "I just feel like you'll bring in a different perspective. You've done a lot of Wrestlemania; You've been through a lot of experiences good, bad & otherwise. There is a value in that, a lot of do's and don'ts good and bads; You certainly can help guys face every possible situation that they're going to come up against."
