"You just knew he was real scrappy. You got to get up early in the morning if you want to try to out work Chris Jericho," said Austin. "Chris was a hustler. I remember watching that guy and he wasn't the biggest guy in the world. It was just that hair and how he carried himself. He always carried himself like a star. He acted like a star. He had the attitude of a star," he continued.

Chris Jericho has been advertised at around six feet tall and two hundred pounds, putting him on the smaller end of size in professional wrestling. Austin said Jericho overcame his size to be a world champion in WWE by making sure he always had a hand in the creative process.

"I'll say this just as a teaching tool for the guys at NXT or whatever. Chris wasn't the biggest guy in the world to come through any federation he was ever in. The guy always had the balls to strike up a relationship with whoever was in charge and go in there and voice his opinions, his ideas, and 'get his shit in' from a creative standpoint. Chris was very hands-on. He took the bull by the horns and the tiger by the tail,"  said Austin.

Jericho did meet resistance when he tried to "push forward" according to Austin, which was something Austin dealt with himself. Austin also considered himself "hands-on."
