Timothy Johnson Sets Up Go Fund Me To Get Cornermen For Next Fight, Goal Met

Top fifteen ranked heavyweight Timothy Johnson is set to fight Marcelo Golm next month on the main card of UFC Fight Night Belem.

With less than two weeks to go before the encounter, a move the heavyweight has made is to set up a Go Fund Me to help get cornermen to travel alongside him to Brazil.

Johnson first spoke about the matter through a post on his Facebook page:

The following is what Johnson shared on his Go Fund me in an attempt to garner financial support for the matter:

“As many know the UFC has me traveling around the world for fights.  What most people don't know is they only pay for 2 tickets.  Sponsorship money is tight and had a few not contribute to this trip.  So I'm asking for your help in the last minute ditch effort to help get my other two coaches to Brazil for my fight, as this will be going towards their flights.  Any extra will be donated to wounded warriors or a similar donation.   Thanks for your time and support.”

Luckily for the fighter, all funding has been met by supporters and the cornermen are going with him to Brazil.

An elated Johnson shared the following update on the Go Fund Me:

“The goal has been met, and I'm in utter disbelief from everyone's generosity. I'll be keeping the account open for more donations that will be donated to the veteran community.”

As of this writing, a total of $4,512 has been raised by Johnson, which is $512 more than the amount the fighter had asked for.

UFC Fight Night Belem takes place on Saturday, February 3 from the Manguerinho Gymnasium in Sao Paulo, Brazil with Lyoto Machida and Eryk Anders headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
