Tyron Woodley Calls Out A Slew Of Fighters For Next Title Defense

MMA

UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley recently revealed that his next title defense will be coming this July, either at UFC 213 or UFC 214.

With no opponent announced at this time, the champion decided to call out a slew of UFC fighters to face him for the gold.

Eric Bischoff Comments On Whether His Role At MLW One Shot Is A One Off

“There’s a lot of fighters who say, ‘I’ll fight anybody, anytime, anywhere,’ but they really don’t mean that,” Woodley said on UFC Unfiltered. “If Conor McGregor wanted to fight me, he has an opportunity to do so. So does (Michael) Bisping. So does Georges St-Pierre. So does Nick Diaz. So does Nate Diaz. All these guys have a chance to step up to the plate. But ain’t nobody picked up the bat.”

McGregor is currently continuing his war of words with legendary boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. as they continue negotiating a super fight for later this year. Bisping is probably out of the question as well because he is defending his middleweight strap against former welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre later this year, which would also put GSP out of the bout with Woodley as well.

That leaves the Diaz Brothers (Nick & Nate), but Nate recently revealed on The MMA Hour that he and his brother will not step back into the Octagon until 2018.

The July UFC events are just around the corner, an opponent for Woodley should be announced shortly.
