UFC 208 Moved To New York & Date Changed

MMA

UFC 208, originally scheduled for Saturday, January 21 from the Honda Center in Anaheim, California will instead take place on Saturday, February 11 from the Barclays Center in New York, New York.

The Los Angeles Daily News broke the story, citing the main reason behind the change being the lack of top quality headliners that can compete this January.

Los Angeles MMA fans who are disappointed by the change in location for the event will have to wait until Saturday, August 5 for a card to take place at the Honda Center. It is unknown at this time if it will be a pay-per-view event or a fight night event.

If UFC 208 had gone forward as scheduled, it would have went head-to-head with Bellator 170, which features a pair of UFC veterans in the main event as former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Tito Ortiz takes on Chael Sonnen.

There are still a pair of UFC pay-per-views left in 2016, with UFC 206 takes place on December 10 with Max Holloway and Anthony Pettis battling for the vacant UFC Interim Featherweight Title and UFC 207 on December 30 with Amanda Nunes defending the women’s bantamweight title against Ronda Rousey.
