The Hawaii-set film is set to start The Rock, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Emily Blunt in leading roles.

The story, previously been described as 'The Departed' meets 'Goodfellas', is set to follow a mob boss that is fighting for control of Hawaiian islands in the 1960s and 70s.

Full synopsis (via The Hollywood Reporter):

The untitled story tells of a formidable and charismatic mob boss who rises to build the islands’ most powerful criminal empire, waging a brutal war against mainland corporations and rival syndicates while fighting to preserve his ancestral land. His ruthless quest for absolute power ignited the last great American mob saga, where the war for cultural survival takes place in the unlikeliest of places: paradise.

It is currently unknown when the movie will begin production.

Rock took to Instagram to confirm his involvement in the movie earlier this month. Check out our full article on the matter by clicking here.
