Pagano is set to have surgery.
In a tweet on February 20, Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide announced that Pagano was medically assessed, and it has been determined that he will undergo surgery on Tuesday, February 21. Additional details were not provided on the announcement. As a result, the reason for Pagano's surgery is currently unclear. AAA stated that they would update on Pagano's health on the company's official social media pages.
AAA president Marisela Pena commented on the news by stating that the company will be attentive to Pagano's health.

Among other accolades, Pagano is a former AAA World Tag Team Champion. Per Cagematch, he last wrestled at the AAA/New Exotic event in Mexico on February 18. Earlier in February, he competed at AAA AAA Rey De Reyes 2023; he lost in the finals, where Sam Adonis emerged victorious in a four-way bout. Pagano is not scheduled for any AAA shows until March 10.
