Abbey Laith is moving onto the next chapter.
Yesterday, the news broke that Abbey Laith and some other developmental talent had been released by WWE. She had been with the company for over a year and competed in the Mae Young Classic. Today, Laith tweeted a thank you message to the people at WWE and NXT.
Dear @WWENXT and @WWE ..... Thank You. Thank you for all the opportunities you gave me in the last year. Thank you for everything I was taught and I wouldn't trade that chapter of my life for anything. Now my path may be changing, but the Crown Jewel is still very much alive----

The Crown Jewel was a reference to Laith performing as Princess KimberLee in Chikara but she also performed as simply Kimber Lee in most of her independent wrestling matches before NXT.
Beyond Wrestling announced Laith will be performing at a April 28th event which also involves Chikara.

Also released from WWE's developmental were fellow Mae Young Classic participant Sage Beckett and boxer turned professional wrestler Gu Guangming. Beckett sent this tweet before news of her release had broke.
I’ve given my body for 13 years, now it’s time to use my brain. ---- #thankyou
