Adam Cole Did Not Know If NXT Fans Would Care About His Debut

Adam Cole was excited for his own NXT debut.

At NXT Takeover: Brooklyn III, Adam Cole debuted on NXT and attacked the Champion at the time Drew McIntyre. Fans knew he was signed by WWE and rumors had been abound that he would be debuting on that night. In an interview with Sporting News, Cole said he was nervous about his debut in front of a new audience.

"The biggest thing going through my brain was that I just really, really hoped the people care. I remember thinking I'm coming out and attacking the NXT Champion at the end of the show and standing in the middle of the ring. I really hope the people care. That they know who I am. All these thoughts are going through your brain," said Cole.

The audience would react loudly to Cole and he said that moment will be one of his favorites from his career.

"To be able to come out and feel the buzz and see people pointing and people screaming 'oh my god, he's here' was such a cool moment for me. It's certainly top three definitely favorite moments for me in my career so far. That was really exciting. Then with me capping it off walking up the ramp and looking at the people and doing 'Adam Cole BayBay' for the first time in WWE and everybody doing it with me was really cool. That was when I was like 'OK, let's go, time to go to work,'" said Cole.

At NXT Takeover: New Orleans, Adam Cole will be competing in two matches. He has joined Kyle O'Reilly to represent the Undisputed Era in the Tag Team Championship match and will compete for the new NXT North American Championship in a ladder match.

Fightful Wrestling will have live coverage and a recapping podcast for the event.
