In a new interview with Case Lowe from Q101, Adam Cole confirmed that the decade-old story was true.
“It’s 100% true. Yes, yes.”
Cole then detailed the situation, even revealing that he had already seen the match that they were watching at the time.
"Sure sure, and actually, it never got to the kissing portion, it never even happened. What happened was I was in high school, like a freshman or sophomore in high school and my best friend was there, he had a girl that he really liked and they were dating at the time. The girl brought a friend who thought I was very cute. We all were hanging out, two two were smooching on the other couch. We had No Way Out, Rey Mysterio vs. Randy Orton — by the way, I was at this show. I was there. I had already seen the match, but I wanted to watch it on DVD and she was trying to kiss me and I said, ‘Hey, listen, not right now, I got to watch Rey Mysterio vs. Randy Orton.’ I was dedicated my friend, dedicated.”
Since No Way Out 2006, Rey Mysterio and Randy Orton have faced each other twice in the premium live event setting, with the most recent match occuring at TLC in December 2018.
